Scholarships

Numerous scholarships are available for study abroad. Consult UTA’s ScholarShop or the UTA Study Abroad Scholarship page for a current list.

  • International Education Fee Scholarship – $1,500 study abroad scholarships available to students enrolled full-time in courses at UTA in the spring semester. Scholarship is based on financial need and merit. Application due date: April 1.
  • Betty and Roger Ruch Study Abroad Scholarship – Open to College of Liberal Arts majors planning to study abroad, scholarships may be granted for up to $3000 per individual. See ScholarShop for application due date.
  • Bill and Tilly Wasson Scholarship for Study Abroad – Open to French and other Liberal Arts majors enrolled full-time this fall and spring who have not participated in a study abroad program before and have filed a FAFSA form. See ScholarShop for application due date.
  • Jack and Doris Fouse Study Abroad Scholarship – Open to full-time International Business-French majors with a 3.0 minimum GPA. Application due date: April 1.
  • Bart Lewis Memorial Scholarship – Open to French majors with 12 hours of UTA French coursework and a 3.0 GPA. See the ScholarShop for application due date.
  • Benjamin A. Gilman International Scholarship – Open to U.S. Citizens in good academic standing at UTA who are Pell Grant recipients. Students are selected on the basis of financial need, with preference given to under-represented groups such as ethnic minorities and disabled individuals. Application is due March 3.
  • Phi Kappa Phi Study Abroad Scholarship – Open to UTA students with a GPA of 3.75 of higher. See website for details.
  • Modern Languages Endowed Scholarship – Although this scholarship for French and other Modern Language majors is not intended for summer courses, it can be used towards courses this spring or next fall. See ScholarShop for details.
  • Newy Scruggs Endowment for Student Enrichment Activities – Open to Liberal Arts majors, this scholarship can be used towards “travel, workshops, festivals, conferences, etc.” See ScholarShop for details.
  • Pell Grants / FAFSA – Not a scholarship, but financial aid. Some summer funding is available to early FAFSA applicants. To ensure availability, apply for your 2020-2021 FAFSA beginning as early as October 1, 2019.
